Born and raised in Northern VA, in what he describes as “at the time something of a grey zone between suburban and country living”. Herb sights “aspirations of fame as a rock ‘n’ roll star and listening to the locals pick and sing Carter Family style tunes” as early influences on his musical development.
Though as a child, Herb showed some interest in the banjo, his parents cleverly told him that he was not allowed to play the guitar. Hence, his interest immediately shifted towards guitar.
Herb fancies himself as something of a songwriter and several of his literary efforts can be heard in a typical Elm Street performance. Listen and/or purchase an album of original songs by Herb here.
