Song

Here’s a ‘template’ version of the song Journey, with me playing guitar and singing, accompanied by Frank Smithson on acoustic bass. When performing this song with an audience, I like to sing the two verses through once, include some instrumental solos if appropriate, and then have folks sing a cappella (no instruments~just voices) and repeat the line ‘In the hopes that our world will be one’ at the end.

For the sake of the souls
Who have passed thru the ages
For the songs that have rolled off our tongues
For the hearts of the children
Who will still turn the pages
In the hopes that our world will be one

For the songs of the teardrops
That will bring us the flowers
With the rise of the new morning sun
For the hearts of the children
Who will still turn the pages
In the days when our journey is done

In the hopes that our world will be one
